Summary

We are an innovative and market leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.

Given the ongoing situation with COVID, you will initially work remotely, with dedicated support being provided by a senior team member by way of Zoom, Slack, Phone, Screensharing etc. Our goal will be to return to our Chorley based office in the coming months, which is where you will be based. However, with this particular role there will still be an option of full-time remote working under ESG’s Hybrid Remote Working Policy. However during your probation period, which is 6 months, you will be expected to attend the office frequently for training

The RPA Developer will be a key member of a small Automation Team in an environment which uses a variety of highly specialised applications developed and maintained in house and where automation can be delivered either by RPA or by use of in house automations.

Position Responsibilities

  • To work with the Automation team to develop and deliver automation improvement activity across the Operations teams
  • To assist in the design and definition of feasible, cost-effective automated solutions to meet the agreed functional and non-functional requirements of automation deliveries
  • To assist in the identification of automation opportunities within our Managed Service BPO operation teams
  • Work with business SMEs to support the design and construction of RPA solutions that result in a prototype RPA workproduct, ready for testing
  • To develop and document new and amended software solutions in accordance with ESG standards, to meet therequirements of the design/program specification
  • Define testing criteria and approaches for any new automation
  • Provide support to the automation tools deployed into ESG Managed Service operation
  • To monitor existing automation, looking for areas of improvement
  • To work in a collaborative and supportive way, working as one-team across different departments
  • To contribute to project planning, providing estimates of effort, updates on progress and to advise of any deviations from the agreed plan
  • To assist in the preparation of user documentation and user training as required
  • To understand the importance of quality control and comply with all relevant standards and procedures and to participate in quality assurance activities
  • To work within a formal change control system

Position Qualifications

Essential:

  • Strong evidenced background of successful delivery in RPA
  • Experience working with Automation Anywhere
  • Advanced RPA Professional qualification
  • Experience of the whole project life cycle, able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the depths of system testing, and at each stage in between
  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Operating Systems
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks

Desirable:

  • Energy or utilities sector experience
  • Experience of working in environments with significant regulatory compliance
  • ISO27001 awareness and experience
