Policies for slashing car emissions and accelerating widespread electric vehicle adoption were announced yesterday. Half of all new cars sold in 2030 will be zero-emission vehicles. The Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announces new fuel mileage and emissions standards. The Competition and Markets Authority has completed its market study into electric vehicle charging in the UK. "We have published the final report of our market study into electric vehicle charging. Fascinating experimental technology could produce chemicals for growing bacteria that can be eaten by livestock. Renewable power such as solar energy would be used to capture carbon directly from the air and turn it into a simple compound. If we were to convert 1/10th of the land used to grow protein-rich soya for feeding animals to solar panels, this would yield as much protein as the farms currently produce. Click here to read more.
